Grässlin Kunststoffe is the exclusive distributor of SABIC's LNP™ THERMOCOMP™ OFM76XXP in Germany
Unparalleled safety, maximum miniaturization, and excellent heat resistance: SABIC’s new LNP™ THERMOCOMP™ OFM76XXP compound sets new standards for use in electrical engineering and electric mobility. The material is based on polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) with 65% glass fiber and mineral reinforcement. OFM76XXP is marketed exclusively in Germany by Grässlin Kunststoffe, an experienced distributor of high-performance engineering plastics within the Hromatka Group.
CTI 600V: Compact and reliable—even under extreme conditions
“With the OFM76XXP, we are setting a new benchmark in electrical safety and miniaturization—a true driver of technological advancement for our customers in the E&E and e-mobility markets,” emphasizes Thomas Bücker, Managing Director of Grässlin Kunststoffe. A key unique selling point of the new material: The CTI (Comparative Tracking Index) value of 600 V corresponds to the highest UL rating (PLC 0)—a feature currently offered by only a few materials. This results in shorter creepage distances, enabling the design of more compact and high-performance assemblies—a decisive advantage for the miniaturization of electronics and the increasing demands in power electronics.
Responses to the Challenges of E-Mobility
With the rapid growth of electric mobility, demand is rising for faster charging times, higher voltages, and more energy-efficient solutions. OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) are increasingly developing high-voltage-capable, compact, and integrated electrical systems to meet this trend. SABIC has developed the LNP™ THERMOCOMP™ OFM76XXP compound specifically to meet these requirements—for use in high-voltage architectures in the next generation of vehicles. Materials with a high CTI rating also offer enhanced protection against electrical breakdown, even when exposed to moisture, dust, or corrosive substances—a critical factor in safety-critical applications in the household, industrial, and automotive sectors.
