Grässlin Establishes Healthcare Division

Ole Stein Heads New Business Unit – Focus on High-Quality Plastic Solutions for Medical Technology

Demand is growing for customized plastic solutions for medical devices, diagnostic technology, surgical instruments, and packaging for pharmaceutical products. With its dedicated Healthcare business unit, Grässlin Kunststoffe is setting the course to reliably meet the growing demand in medical technology in the future while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. Ole Stein heads the new business unit. The goal: to expand Grässlin’s expertise and innovative strength in this dynamic and rapidly growing industry.

“The establishment of this business unit is an important strategic decision. Effective immediately, we are placing an even greater focus on high-performance plastics for reliable medical technology applications, which have particularly high demands on material quality and processing,” explains Grässlin Managing Director Thomas Bücker: “In doing so, we will increasingly apply our extensive expertise in plastics technology to this highly sensitive sector and strategically expand our diverse portfolio of high-quality plastic granules and compounds.”

With Ole Stein, Grässlin has been able to bring on board an experienced expert in medical technology. The 55-year-old brings more than 30 years of expertise in the fields of plastics technology and healthcare. Previously, he held leadership positions at the Masterflex Group and at MedNet GmbH, where he successfully drove the development and implementation of solutions for medical technology and pharmaceutical applications. “I am very excited to help develop the new Healthcare division,” said Stein. “Grässlin offers an excellent foundation for developing innovative solutions that meet the high standards of the healthcare industry. I am convinced that, as a team with deep technical expertise and a focus on quality and sustainability, we can deliver significant solutions for medical technology and healthcare provision.”

The expansion into the healthcare sector is a significant step for Grässlin toward consolidating its market position in the plastics industry with an eye toward the future and meeting the growing demands for plastics in medical technology, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and other health-related sectors. Through close collaboration with leading companies and research institutions, as well as through a network of trusted engineers for product development, the company aims to increasingly support projects from the initial concept stage onward. Another focus is on sustainable materials that meet the highest standards of biocompatibility and make a long-term contribution to reducing the environmental footprint in the medical technology industry.
